Halal

For all exports, only recognised Islamic organisations can certify Halal meat and meat products. The certification is also back by Australian government assurance that the product has be produced in accordance with Islamic Shari'aa standards. We process our cattle under halal guidelines in conjunction with the relevant bodies for the relevant market.

Meat Standards Australia

Meat Standards AustraliaTM (MSA) is a beef grading program that labels beef with a grade and recommended cooking method to guarantee tenderness. Individual carcase attributes such as breed content, meat colour, marbling, fat depth, maturity and ultimate pH of the carcase are collected as all have an interrelated effect on eating quality. Results of grading are allocated to the carcase including individual primal quality grades, days of ageing required to achieve the grade, and recommended cooking method.

ISO 9001:2015

The internationally recognised ISO 9001:2015 requires continuous monitoring and auditing to ensure we meet the quality standards we have imposed. Stockyard has continued to exceed standard levels since the company received initial accreditation in 2001.

AUS-MEAT Non-Packer Export

We hold a non-packer exporter accreditation with AUS-MEAT. Under Australian legislation, we are required to hold this accreditation to be granted a license to export. This accreditation ensures that we are compliant across government and industry standards around quality assurance across the entire export supply chain. For you this means your product label and specifications adhere to AUS-MEAT language.

Our processing partner is also AUS-MEAT accredited, which is also required by law in Australia. Our sales and marketing team have also completed Beef Product Specification course with AUS-MEAT to understand beef products and the AUS-MEAT accreditation held by our processing partner.

Safe Food QLD

Safe Food QLD accreditation allows Stockyard to store and deliver wholesale/retail products at our head office warehouse location. All production requirements completed off site are only done in Safe Food QLD accredited facilities to ensure the utmost hygiene and food safety precautions.

Australian Trusted Trader

Backed by Australia Border Force, Australian Trusted Trader accreditation signals that we have been assessed and meet World Customs Organisation standards. As a result, our export activities are deemed low risk, our cargo out of Australia is expedited and the security of our exports are regularly reviewed.

Australian Trusted Trader reduces red tape for Trusted Traders at the border, improves certainty in export markets, and expedites the flow of their cargo in and out of Australia, which means faster access to market.

HACCP

HACCP Australia Food Safety Accreditation provides a recognised endorsement of food safety excellence. This endorsement offers assurance to the industry of a product's suitability for use within a HACCP-based food safety programme. In alignment with AS/NZS ISO 9001:2015 protocol, Stockyard continues to proudly offer products that have been exposed to the highest food safety measures.

Feedlot & farming accreditations

Australian producers lead the world in responsible farming, and at Kerwee, we raise the bar even higher. With a legacy built on care, innovation, and integrity, our feedlot proudly sets a standard of excellence in animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and sustainable feed practices. Recognised as ALFA’s Feedlot of the Year five times, Kerwee stands as a testament to what’s possible when dedication meets purpose. These accreditations reflect our unwavering commitment to the land, our animals, and a future we’re proud to shape.

European Union Cattle Accreditation Scheme (EUCAS)

The European Union Cattle Accreditation Scheme (EUCAS) is a national animal production scheme that we meet the European Union (EU) market requirements for beef including full individual traceability from birth through the NLIS, no use of hormone growth promotants and clear EUCAS pen signage.

Due to our strict internal feedlot management systems and auditing processes, we are independently audited by an Australian government official annually.

Animal Welfare – Truck Safe

We only partner with transport providers who hold Truck Safe's Animal Welfare accreditation. The accreditation is an audited quality assurance program for livestock transport. It is focused on humane transportation of the stock, on how to prevent disease, stress and contamination problems when moving them, on making sure the 'paddock to plate' traceability for livestock is supported during the journey and on the eating quality and safety of the final meat product.

National Livestock Identification System

The National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) is a system for the identification and traceability of cattle. The system allows lifetime traceability. All animals are identified with an accredited NLIS tag or device from their property of birth. If our animals are from one of our trusted supplied their movement is recorded centrally on the NLIS database. This means we are able to track a piece of beef that is in market right back through to the property that animal was born on – whether it is ours or from one of our trusted suppliers.

Livestock Production Assurance

The Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) program governs seven critical traceability, on-farm practices, and animal handling requirements. This quality assurance program allows you to rest easy knowing:

  • Our feedlot and farming risks are strictly managed
  • Our animals are handled and treated responsibly and their welfare in mind
  • Our feed is free from chemicals and other contaminants
  • We know where our cattle are from, and how they are treated and transported
  • We have a biosecurity plan that reduces the risk of transmission of disease, pests and weeds
  • Independent on-site audits are conducted each year to ensure that our management systems are compliant with LPA rules and standards

National Feedlot Accreditation Scheme

The National Feedlot Accreditation Scheme (NFAS) is an independently audited quality assurance program for the Australian lot feeding industry. The scheme ensures we maintain responsible feedlot management. It demonstrates our commitment to animal welfare, the environment, our meat quality and food safety.

To maintain our accreditation our feedlot is audited by three (3) independent AUS-MEAT officers.
