Technical Assistant (Maternity Cover)
About the role
We’re seeking a detail-orientated Technical Assistant as a full-time maternity cover (12 months), reporting through to our Feedlot Operations Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of agriculture and technology, supporting our Feedlot and Pastoral operations through data management, trial coordination and technical support.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting the implementation and monitoring of the genetic and operational plan through data recording and management and in collaboration with the Stockyard Pastoral Leadership team.
- Accurate measurement and management of the Pastoral herd and Feedlot performance data.
- Generating insightful feedback reports for suppliers and supporting the management team with weekly and monthly KPI feedback.
- Overseeing the trials conducted at Kerwee Feedlot, including management and technical support of the Grow Safe system, including data integrity, analytics and reporting.
- Providing technical and data support on performance-based trials within Stockyard Pastoral and/or Stockyard Lot Feeders.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who has strong analytical skills and attention to detail who prides themselves on delivering accurate insights that drive operational improvements.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in working in a pastoral or lot-feeding operation (preferred but not essential).
- Experienced record management and maintaining data records and reports in an agricultural environment.
- Excellent in using Microsoft Excel (particularly using formulas), Word and Power BI.
- A team player who has the ability to work collaboratively with effective communication skills
- Driven by KPIs and a desire to meet or exceed these.
- Contributes positively to finding solutions when there is an organisational need and there’s a temporary gap in resources.
- Willing to support and coach team members and leads by example with their commitment to our company’s shared values.
- Committed to workplace safety and standard operating procedures.
- Respectful for our animals, environment, people and equipment.
